Welcome to our school!
Everyone involved in the running of Long Toft welcomes you to the school website. We are a very dedicated and hardworking team, ensuring that your children work to their full potential and enjoy attending school. We hope you find the website interesting and informative.
When you call our school you will speak to our lovely ladies in the office, either Miss. Gorman, Mrs. Hall, Mrs. Wilkinson or Mrs. Addison. From there if you would like to speak to our head teacher, please ask for Mrs. Wainman. If you would like to speak to our deputy head teacher please ask for Mr. Howlett. If you would like to speak to our SENCo please ask for Mrs. Harte. Otherwise please explain the reason for your call and you will be directed to the correct person.

Long Toft Learners
Well done to those who received the Long Toft Learner Award in todays whole school assembly. The award, presented by our Head Teacher, Mrs Wainman, is for outstanding effort, dedication, and enthusiasm for learning.
These students have shown great commitment and a positive attitude in their learning, and we are so proud of all of them for this fantastic achievement.

25/26 Pupil Ambassadors
Our newly appointed Pupil Ambassadors for the 2025/2026 school year had their first meeting yesterday. The group gathered to discuss their priorities and share ideas on how they can make a positive impact across the school community.
To mark the important occasion, the ambassadors enjoyed biscuits and juice while getting to know one another and beginning to plan their initiatives.
We look forward to seeing the fantastic work they will lead throughout the year!
Don't be alone this Christmas
As the Christmas holidays approach, this time of year can feel difficult for some.
If you - or someone you know - might be spending Christmas alone, there are local community events offering friendship, a warm meal, and festive cheer.
Please see the attached flyer for details of several free “Don’t Be Alone at Christmas” events happening across the area. Everyone is welcome, and it’s a wonderful opportunity to connect, have conversation, and enjoy some company this Christmas.

Sheffield Pupils - Christmas Safety Plea
Sheffield school children are delivering a heartfelt message to parents this Christmas- pleading with them to keep them safe at what the fire service says is traditionally one of its busiest times of the year.
With more house fires happening in December than at any other time of the year, South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue has teamed up with pupils at Ballifield Primary School to deliver a letter to parents across the county in the form of a heart-wrenching video- called ‘A Christmas Wish’.
The fire service says distraction from cooking, overloaded sockets and new presents being left on charge all add to the risk.
Head of community safety, Group Manager Chris Tyler, said: “Christmas is an exciting time of year for many people- especially children- but it also comes with increased hazards.
Y6 explain How to Steal Christmas
Y6 have been writing instructions about how to steal Christmas, inspired by The Grinch. They are so beautiful, we wanted to shared them with parents too.
